Three University of Nebraska at Kearney students won cash awards for their original poems presented at the Sigma Tau Delta Poetry Slam Friday, April 23, in Kearney.
The winners are: First Place, Matt Mason of Wayne, $75; Second Place, Gary Dop of Kearney, $50; and Third Place, Teri Schifferns of Grand Island, $25.
The winners were announced Sunday by Sigma Tau Delta vice president Justin Sevenker of Grand Island.
