The Nebraska Safety Center at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will offer two driver education courses at Broken Bow Public School this summer.
Session 1 will be July 6-16. The class will meet 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Range and simulation will be at the Nebraska Safety Center in Kearney twice–July 9, 2:30- 8 p.m., and July 16, 2:30-8 p.m.
Session 2 will be July 19-30. The class will meet 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Range and simulation will be at the Nebraska Safety Center twice–July 20, 9 a.m. –2:30 p.m., and July 27, 9 – 2:30 p.m.
Classes are limited to 24 students. Enrollment will be on a first-come, first- served basis. The fee for the course is $225. Payment plans are available upon request. To enroll in the course, contact Marshall Barth at the UNK Nebraska Safety Center at 308-865-8256.
Each student must have a valid school permit, learner’s permit for a school permit, learner’s permit or driver’s license. Special arrangements for youth with special needs relating to the classroom and driving may be accommodated, but may involve additional personnel and cost. Students are provided up to three hours of on-street driving time. No unexcused absences are allowed.
Successful completion of the course results in waiver of the written and drive test at the driving examiner’s office. This course conforms to the rules and regulations of the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles and exceeds the criteria established for insurance discounts.
