UNK NEBRASKA SAFETY CENTER OFFERS DRIVER EDUCATION COURSES IN GIBBON DURING SUMMER OF 2004

The Nebraska Safety Center at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will offer a two-week driver education course June 1 -June 11 at the Gibbon High School.

The class will meet from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Gibbon High School. Range and simulation will be at the Nebraska Safety Center in Kearney June 4 and June 10 from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Classes are limited to 24 students. Enrollment will be on a first-come, first- served basis. The fee for the course is $225. Payment plans are available upon request. Each student must have a valid school permit, learner’s permit for a school permit, learner’s permit or driver’s license. Special arrangements for youth with special needs relating to the classroom and driving may be accommodated, but may involve additional personnel and cost. Students are provided up to three hours of on-street driving time. No unexcused absences are allowed. Successful completion of the course results in waiver of the written and drive test at the driving examiner’s office.

This course conforms to the rules and regulations of the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles and exceeds the criteria established for insurance discounts.
