The Nebraskats, the University of Nebraska at Kearney show choir, will conduct a show choir clinic for area middle school students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney Friday, Nov. 11, concluding with a performance at 7:30 p.m.
The clinic will begin with rehearsals for the evening show and break-out sessions for learning techniques of singing, dancing and acting for show choir. The clinic, open to students in grades six through eight, will give young vocalists an opportunity to learn from, interact with and perform with the Nebraskats.
Participants of the afternoon clinic will perform Ev’rybody Wants to Bea Cat from the Disney filmThe Aristocats with the members of the UNK show choir.
The Nebraskats will also perform the musical selection Irving Berlin:A Century of Song includingThere’s No Business Like Show Business. Other selections comprising the program are Operator, I Can’t Give You Anythingbut Love, Jerome Kern: A Choral Portrait and Defying Gravity fromWicked.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the UNK Fine Arts Recital Hall.
