UNK-The National Kitchen and Bath Association International Student Kitchen Design winners for 2001 were selected from thirty universities and colleges in the U.S. and Canada. Five UNK students from the department of Family Studies & Interior Design won awards. Kristin Pruter from Stratton won first place, Becky Heishman of Kearney won second place, and Kristin Hemsath of Curtis, Sherri Sloane of Kearney, and Megan Warren of Omaha all received honorable mentions.
“This is the sixth time we have won this competition. Placing in an international competition such as this gives students an edge in the job market. It also gives our program some publicity and credibility,” said Dr. Phyllis Markussen, Professor of Family Studies & Interior Design.
