KEARNEY – Students in Mass Media, an honor society for University of Nebraska at Kearney students studying journalism and mass communication, recently inducted seven new members.
Members of Students in Mass Media (SIMM) must be full-time students at UNK pursuing a major or minor in a mass communication field. They also must have at least a sophomore class standing and 3.2 overall grade-point average.
SIMM provides resume- and career-building opportunities for members, as well as interactions with professionals in their fields of interest. The organization also provides services and opportunities for the community and campus. Members meet twice a month to discuss current matters, and they place promotional inserts from businesses in The Antelope student newspaper to help fund the organization.
