UNK- The University of Nebraska at Kearney Student Activities Council will host the annual Bike Bowl challenge on separate dates from April 9 to 14.
The main event, Cottonmill Challenge will take place at 2 p.m. April 9 at Cottonmill Lake. The three to five hour event will consist of a set course on the east side of the lake that teams of four will negotiate.
The Trike Race will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. April 10 at the Nebraskan Student Union Courtyard. Teams of four will ride through a series of twists and turns on trikes.
The newest event, the Bike-Trike Obstacle Course, will take place at 4 p.m. on April 14 at the Nebraska Safety Center driving range. The one to two hour event’s course will consist of riding through a series of cones, a 150-yard sprint, spinning on a baseball bat ten times and then riding to the finish line.
“The Bike Bowl event has been a tradition here at UNK for many years,” said Keith Riffle, UNK student activities coordinator. “It is a great event for the community and students to come out and have a fun time with.”
