The Future of Solar Cell Technology and You!
Drs Scott Darveau and Chris Exstrom
Chemistry Department
University of Nebraska at Kearney
In the foreseeable future, photovoltaic (PV) solar cell technology will play an increasingly important role in renewable energy development. To meet anticipated energy consumption needs, rapid advancements in solar cell material and device structures are needed. An overview of current PV technology will be presented and insights into “next-generation”materials and devices such as iron pyrite, semiconductor nanoparticles, and organic PV cells will be discussed.
