A faculty member from Rostock University in Rostock, Germany, will give the first in a series of World Affairs Conference presentations at the University of Nebraska at Kearney at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, in Ockinga Auditorium.
Henning Griethe’s presentation, titled “What is Business Informatics?,” is free and open to the public.
Unlike previous years, when WAC events were held in one week in the spring, offerings will be held monthly from fall into the spring. Events are set for October through March, and will offer students, faculty and the public an opportunity to explore a transnational experience, focusing on immigration and how it affects immigrants.
“The conference serves as an opportunity for students to discuss current and pressing world issues,” said Jerry Fox, UNK director of International Education.
“The conference brings speakers from around the world to the UNK campus to discuss issues of importance to the world through a series of events, lectures, panels and performances.” The conference presentations are free and open to the public.
UNK conference sponsors include: International Education, Faculty Senate Artists and Lecturers Committee, Women’s Studies, Department of English, International Students Association, College of Education, College of Business and Technology, College of Fine Arts and Humanities, College of Natural and Social Sciences, and the Office of Graduate Studies and Research.
