KEARNEY – Celebrate the season with Kearney Symphony Orchestra.
The state’s oldest orchestra will present its annual holiday concert 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Merryman Performing Arts Center, 225 W. 22nd St.
“Merry at the Merryman” includes music from Johann Sebastian Bach, Maurice Ravel and Carl Reinecke, along with other holiday favorites and a carol singalong. The performance also features special guest appearances and UNK Concerto/Aria Competition winner Jacob Cahill, a flutist from North Platte.
The UNK Flute Choir will provide pre-concert entertainment in the Merryman lobby, and a pre-concert talk for ticket holders begins at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $13 for adults and $5 for youths ages 10-18. They can be purchased noon to 5 p.m. weekdays at the UNK Theatre Box Office inside the Fine Arts Building on campus or at the Merryman Box Office one hour before the concert. In its 119th season, Kearney Symphony Orchestra is led by music director and conductor Alison Gaines. Members include UNK students and faculty, community volunteers and professional musicians.
