A Taraflex court was recently installed at the UNK Health and Sports Center and is the new playing surface for the Loper volleyball team.
UNK is one of only two Division II volleyball programs to have a Taraflex court – the other being Azusa Pacific University in California. Numerous Division I programs play on the same surface, including Nebraska and Creighton.
The court includes a thin mat over layers of vinyl and foam. It adheres to the basketball floor but can be removed and reinstalled to make way for other events. It also covers other court markings and lines for sports such as basketball, making it stand out and more spectator friendly for volleyball.
