KEARNEY – Nearly 450 students from 28 high schools in Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado attended Friday’s Nebraska Cultural Unity Conference at the Younes Conference Center in Kearney.
The annual event, organized by the University of Nebraska at Kearney, promotes higher education and encourages students from diverse backgrounds to be leaders and pursue their dreams.
In its 17th year, the conference featured 80 speakers and presenters, as well as workshops and information on scholarships, financial aid and numerous academic programs offered at UNK and other institutions.
Additional postsecondary options, including the military, were also represented.
