KEARNEY – The College of Natural and Social Sciences Outreach Committee at UNK is collecting medical supplies for Kearney’s HelpCare Clinic. The Medication Drive is from Nov. 6-17.
University of Nebraska at Kearney students, faculty/staff and visitors can place donations in boxes that will be located at the Nebraskan Student Union and every academic building on campus.
Donations also will be accepted at the HelpCare Clinic, 3015 Ave. A. The clinic’s hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays.
Among items in need are: Allegra, Claritin, Cortizone, Flonase, Nasacort, Nexium, Prilosec, Zantac, Zyrtec and similar medications. Also requested is aspirin, acetaminophen and ibuprofen pain relievers.
HelpCare Clinic serves residents of Buffalo and Kearney counties. The nonprofit clinic provides outpatient medical care for free to uninsured people who do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare, and those who have an annual household income level at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.
