KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney FAME Talent Show will feature acts that are anything from typical to interesting, according to Heather Wolf, assistant director of student activities.
“Typically, we’ve had musical acts – singing or instrumental, dancing, theater skits and even magic, sign language and a Rubik’s Cube performance,” said Wolf.
The event, which is free and open to the public, draws more than 500 spectators each year. The show begins at 7 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 8) in the Nebraskan Student Union Ponderosa Room.
“I think that we always have a great attendance because students like to see friends and peers doing what they love to do, whether that’s singing, dancing or acting,” Wolf said.
Students can perform as a group or as individuals.
Group and individual performers will compete for monetary prizes. Group performance prizes for first, second and third place are $300, $200 and $100, respectively. Individual performance prizes for first, second and third are $200, $150 and $50, respectively.
The event is sponsored by Loper Programming and Activities Council (LPAC).
