KEARNEY – Superheroes, ghosts, pirates and children will be invading the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus for an evening of fun, games and lots of candy the day before Halloween.
UNK students living in the residence halls will host area elementary school children, grades kindergarten through sixth, for Trick-or-Treat Street on campus from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 30.
Parents and their children should gather in the Nebraskan Student Union Atrium any time between 5 and 8 p.m. that day. UNK students will meet children and their parents and serve as their guides through the residence halls.
“We are asking that parents accompany the children throughout the duration of the event,” said Jen Kacere, UNK Residence Life complex director. “It’s a safe environment, the kids will get lots of candy, and UNK students are always excited to see the kids.”
Admission is free and the event is open to children and their accompanying parents or adults. Halloween themed games and crafts will also be provided.
Trick-or-Treat Street is sponsored by UNK Residence Hall Association. RHA is the governing body over the Residence Halls. Members of RHA plan and host events on campus.
