MONA’s Not Just a Book Club features Nebraska authors, stories

Kearney, Neb., May 30, 2013 – The Museum of Nebraska Art is hosting “Not Just a Book Club,” which aims to feature books about Nebraska or books from Nebraskan authors. The book club will also feature books about various aspects of art.

New sessions will take place on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. There is no cost to register and readers can join at any time. The books are not provided for participants, so they will need to be purchased or borrowed ahead of time.

The next session is scheduled for June 4 and will feature “The Art Forger” by B. A. Shapiro. This novel is set in Boston and delves into the mystery of the art heist at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

On July 2, “Haven’s Wake” by Ladette Randolph will be discussed. This novel follows the story of a Nebraska Mennonite family through the hardships of loss and recovery.

On Aug. 6, the book club will feature Nebraskan author Rainbow Rowell. Her novel “Attachments” looks at the earlier instances of cyber-stalking and online love.
