Out with the old and in with the new, the University of Nebraska at Kearney theatre department presents “Office Hours” Wednesday- Sunday, Feb. 20-24.
The performance will take place in the Studio Theatre, in the lower level of the Fine Arts Building. The play is set for Wednesday- Saturday, Feb. 20-23, at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m.
Written by A.R. Gurney, “Office Hours” follows the plight of various liberal arts colleges in the 1970s and a class called “The Western Tradition.” Students and teachers battle over the relevance of teaching great world classics.
“With a cast of six actors playing 28 characters, ‘Office Hours’ tackles the Great Books curriculum and puts dead white men to the test,” said Janice Fronczak, production director.
UNK faculty involved in the play include Janice Fronczak, production director; Sara Ice, costume designer; Rick Scholwin, sound designer; Kathleen Lorenzen, lighting designer; and Darin Himmerich, technical director.
Tickets are $8 for adults; $6 for non-UNK students, seniors and UNK faculty/staff; $5 for groups of 10 or more; and free for UNK students with a valid ID.
