“Shake It Up” is the theme for the annual cheer and dance kids camp set for Saturday, Feb. 4, at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
The camp, which is hosted by the UNK Sapphires Dance Team and UNK Cheerleading Squad, will include a cheer and dance clinic from 1 – 3 p.m. in the Ponderosa Room, located in the Nebraskan Student Union. Participants will then perform at 6 p.m. during half-time of the UNK women’s basketball game.
“Kids ages four through fifth grade are welcome,” said Heather Wolf, Spirit Squad adviser and UNK assistant director for student activities. “The cost of the clinic is $25, and includes a t-shirt, goody bag and two additional parent tickets to the evening basketball games.”

Members of the UNK Sapphires Dance Team and UNK Cheer Squad host the camp each January. Membership in the groups are decided through competitive auditions. Spirit Squad and Sapphires members are listed below, alphabetically by hometown:
