Transfer and new student orientation day is set for Friday, Dec. 2, at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
According to Dusty Newton, UNK Admissions director, the day is designed for new transfer students to meet with their advisers and register for spring semester classes. During the day, there will be academic presentations. Also, Academic and Career Services will give a brief overview on how to use various university resources and register for classes.
“Overall this fall, there was a 23 percent increase in transfer students enrolling at UNK, so we are seeing a rise in transfer student enrollment,” Newton said. “Not as many students transfer for the spring semester.”
Students must be admitted to UNK to attend Transfer Day. Students not yet admitted, can contact the Office of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions to follow up on the status of their application. Admitted students can register online to attend Transfer Day at: unk.edu/transferday
