An in-depth tour and explanation of the colorful history of the Frank House at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will be the focus of the Saturdays at the Frank House program, titled The Director’s Tour, on Saturday, Feb. 12.

The program will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the UNK Frank House, which is located on the UNK West Campus. The program is free and open to the public; however, donations to the Frank House are always accepted.

Sarah Jones, director of the Frank House, will be giving in-depth, detailed tours of the 1890’s mansion, which will include information that is not always presented in the daily tours.

“Guests can hear the detailed stories of the Frank House and Frank family that are not always included in the tour,” Jones said.

According to Jones, objects from the Frank House collection to be highlighted include George W. Frank’s Sevres vase, Matilda Saunders’ secretary desk and others. Jones will also tell the story of the Frank House’s star-crossed lovers, Gus and Pauline.

The Director’s Tour is one in a series of Saturdays at the Frank House presentations. For more information on Saturdays at the Frank House events visit www.unk.edu/offices/frankhouse.
