UNK – “Conflict Management in the Workplace” will be the focus of a 6 p.m. presentation on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Lee Elliott, vice president of Human Resources at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, will be speaking in Room 238C of the West Center Building, located on the UNK West Campus. Elliot’s presentation, which is free and open to the public, is being sponsored by the UNK Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
“Mr. Elliott brings his years of negotiation experience to his presentation on how to handle conflict in the workplace,” said Dr. Michelle Fleig-Palmer, SHRM adviser, “His advice is based on extensive research as well as real-life examples that help people to better manage difficult relationships at work.”
Elliott joined St. Francis Medical Center in 1981. Before joining St. Francis, Elliott was human resources director at Ring King Visibles in Muscatine, Iowa. He also taught statistics at Iowa Wesleyan University and has taught graduate classes at UNK. He holds a M.S. from Fort Hays (Kansas) State University and has done additional graduate work in industrial psychology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
