Curt Tomasevicz, Olympic Gold Metalist, will be Speaking at UNK on Sept. 14.

UNK– “A Nebraska success story” will be the subject of a presentation by Curt Tomasevicz, the 2010 bobsledding gold medalist from Nebraska, when he speaks on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus Tuesday, Sept. 14.

Tomasevicz will speak at 7 p.m. in the Nebraskan Student Union Ponderosa Room. The presentation is free and open to the public.

“He will be speaking about aspects from his life, including his success in athletics and how to be successful in life,” said Tim Danube, Nebraskan Student Union associate director. There will be a question and answer session after the presentation.

Tomasevicz won a gold medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics in the four-man bobsled competition and placed sixth in the two-man bobsled competition. He began bobsledding in 2004 and placed at seven competitions that year. He played football for the Cornhuskers from 2000-2003.

Tomasevicz, who is from Shelby, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electronic engineering, and a minor in astronomy from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
