Dr. Neal Schnoor
UNK director of Bands, 308.865.88631
Rich Brodersen, University of Nebraska at Kearney assistant athletic director for facilities and events management, has been named the 2009 recipient of the Ronald J. Crocker, UNK Pride of the Plains Band Distinguished Service Award.
“Rich was chosen because of his tireless and passionate support of the UNK band program and our collaboration with UNK athletics – a relationship that is unique in comparison to most institutions in the country,” said Dr. Neal Schnoor, UNK band director. The award recognizes individuals who have provided significant service to UNK bands, music, music education, students and educators in Nebraska.
Brodersen also coordinates performance activities with the band program, schedules rehearsal facilities and performance logistics for performances at athletic events.
“Rich is a true professional in every regard and quite simply one of the hardest working, loyal, and modest professionals at UNK,” Dr. Schnoor said. “His positive nature, enthusiasm, and commitment to UNK and our students is a model for us all.”
Brodersen will be officially recognized during UNK Homecoming festivities at the annual Music and Performing Arts luncheon on Friday, Oct.16, and at half-time of the UNK vs. Western New Mexico football game on Saturday, Oct. 17.
