Members of the cast of the University of Nebraska at Kearney production of “Oklahoma!” will be guest performers at the Kearney Symphony Orchestra (KSO) concert on Tuesday, April 28.
Joseph Knispel (Curly McLain) and Amy Jensen (Laurey Williams), both of Kearney; Clinton Norgaard (Jud Fry) ofMaywood and Jillian Parker (Ado Annie Carnes) of Goodland, Kan., will reprise their roles from the UNK production during the “Scenes from Oklahoma!” section of the concert. They will perform “Oh What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “I Cain’t Say No,” “People will Say We’re in Love,” “Poor Jud is Daid” and “Oklahoma!.”
The concert will open at 7:30 p.m. in the UNK Fine Arts Recital Hall with Richard Wagner’s piece “Prelude to Act III: Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral” from the opera “Lohengrin.”
The program will also feature a tribute to musical composer John Williams. KSO will perform Williams’ works from major motion picture soundtracks “Star Wars Episodes II and III,” “Harry Potter,” “Superman Returns,” “Jurassic Park,” and “Schindler’s List.” They will also perform “Adventures on Earth” from “E.T.,” “Raiders March” from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Hymn to the Fallen” from “Saving Private Ryan.”
