UNK Hosts Fourth Grade Students For Early Awareness Day Tuesday, March 25th

More than 70 fourth grade students from the Amherst, Axtell, Elm Creek and Pleasanton communities will be on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus tomorrow (Tuesday, March 25) for the 14th annual Early Awareness Day.
           Early Awareness Day will introduce students to the importance of attending college, considering various career options and the enriching experience of campus life, according to Anne McConkey of the UNK Office of Financial Aid.
       Activities for the day will include a touring the campus, lunching in the Nebraskan Student Union and taking part in demonstrations at selected academic departments.

9 to 9:10 a.m.                       Welcome Address
to all fourth grade student visitors, Darrell Morris, UNK Head Football Coach
                                               Miriam Drake Theatre, Fine Arts Building
 
9:10 to 11:10 a.m
.           Students divided into four groups*: A, B, C, D; Tour of Campus begins for all groups
 
11:10 to 11:15                    All Groups proceed to Nebraskan Student Union

 
11:15 a.m. to Noon
        LUNCH for All Group, Nebraskan Student Union Commons
 
Noon to 1:55 p.m.            Tour of Campus
continues for all groups
 
1:55 to 2:15 p.m
.               REFRESHMENT BREAK for All GroupsIf the weather is nice, students will take a break in the area                                 between the Fine Arts Building and Calvin T. Ryan Library. If the weather is not good, students will
                               take the break in the main hallway of the Health and Sports Center – Main Street!

2:15 to 2:20 p.m.
               ALL GROUPS proceed to Cushing Coliseum Fieldhouse
 
2:20 to 2:50 p.m.
               ALL GROUPS – Intramural Activities Scot Fransk
2:50 p.m
.                                  Students receive information packets about college planning
3:00 p.m.
                                 Dismiss to Buses from Fine Arts Building
