Trio To Present A Christmas Parlor Performace At Frank House Sunday, Dec. 16

UNK- A flute, violin and piano trio from the University of Nebraska at Kearney Department of Music and Performing Arts will perform a Christmas Parlor Performance at the Frank House on Sunday, Dec. 16.
       The recital is one in a series of Parlor Performances at the mansion, which is located on the UNK West Campus. The recital, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 1:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted during the performance, according to KrisAnn Sullivan, Frank House director.
       The featured performers will include Franziska Nabb, flute; Dr. Ting-Lan Chen, violin; and Dr. Nathan Buckner, piano. The four pieces performed will be works from composers Joseph Haydn, Jean Franciax, Otto Luening and Bohuslav Martinu.
       Nabb attended the Robert-Schumann Institute of Music in Düsseldorf, Germany. She has played in orchestras in Europe as well as in the United States. She is a flute and German instructor.
       Dr. Chen has had a career as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, and string pedagogue. She holds degrees in violin and chamber music from the University of Cincinnati College – Conservatory of Music. She has performed throughout the United States, Asia and Europe. She is the violin and viola professor.
       Dr. Buckner has appeared throughout the United State; as well as in Europe and Asia. He holds degrees from The Juilliard School of Music, Indiana University and the University of Maryland. He is a piano professor.
