UNK assistant director of Undergraduate Recruitment, 308.865.8435
The Office of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions at the University of Nebraska at Kearney has selected eight new student leaders to help with the Summer Advising and Enrollment (SAE) program at the university.
Student leaders are responsible for welcoming new students and parents on campus, presenting information about the university to visitors, assisting students with registration, leading interactive student groups and giving campus tours.
“SAE student leaders act as a liaison between UNK, and the incoming students and their parents,” said Michael Pelster, assistant director of recruitment at UNK. “They will be sharing their passion for UNK.”
The SAE student leaders include Chris Hein, David City; Lea Schneider, Grand Island; Pat Ackerman, Holdrege; Jodi Phillips, Omaha; Shannon Ryan, Papillion; Drew Youngs, Paxton; Chris Salinas, Schuyler; and Matt Urkoski, Tecumseh.
Pelster said the student leaders were selected after a highly competitive application and interview process.
“This is a position that many excellent UNK students apply for,” he said. “The few who are selected represent the best of the best. They truly are some of the most outstanding students that UNK has to offer.”
SAE student leaders will participate in the program through July.
