The Nebraskats show choir from the University of Nebraska at Kearney will perform at Lexington, Cozad and Gothenburg High Schools Friday, Jan. 26.

The performances are set for 8:05 a.m. in Lexington, 10 a.m. in Cozad and 12:50 a.m. in Gothenburg.
  

The 12-voice Nebraskats, accompanied by three instrumentalists, specialize in high-energy performances featuring music from famous performers such as The Manhattan Transfer, Shania Twain and Carole King, as well as selections from the musicals “Barnum” and “High School Musical.” In addition, the group will perform medleys of Cole Porter and Motown favorites.
    
Nebraskats members include: Alexander Ritter, from Columbus; Michaela Nutt, Dillan Riley and Dirk Riley, all from Cozad; Blake Thompson, Dalton; Tyler Kaufman, Elkhorn; Alicia Spelts and Rutheah Williams, Grand Island; Tray Henricksen, Clifford Holman, James Jelkin, Samantha Jenny, Mandy Kalkwarf and Mary Lillyman, all of Kearney; and Katherine Bauer, Seward.
    

Dr. Andrew White, assistant professor of music and performing arts, directs the Nebraskats. Dr. David Bauer, professor of music and performing arts, serves as choral adviser, while Gary Schaaf, professor of music and performing arts, is the resident choreographer for the group.
