UNK GAMMA KAPPA CHAPTER HOSTS FIRST BOWLING CLASSIC WEDNESDAY, NOV. 8, TO RAISE MONEY FOR CAMPFIRE USA

Members of the University of Nebraska at Kearney Gamma Phi Beta sorority will host a Bowling Classic Wednesday, Nov. 8, to raise money for Campfire USA.
    
The scotch-bowling style tournament will take place beginning at 6 p.m. at the Big Apple Fun Center in Kearney.
    
Tickets are available at sale booths in both the University Residence North and South cafeterias during lunch and dinner hours now through Wednesday, Nov. 1. Tickets may also be purchased by contacting Rochelle Meyer at 402.469.8761 or through email at meyerrj1@unk.edu.
    
Cost for two to participate in the scotch-bowling style tournament is $6. Grand and division prizes will be awarded at the end of the tournament.
    
Campfire USA, the Gamma Phi Beta national philanthropy project, is one of the nation’s leading nonprofit youth development organizations currently serving nearly 750,000 children and teens annually.
    
According to Kristin Nielsen, UNK Panhellenic publicity chair, the tournament goal is to raise $2,000 to help children in the Nebraska area participate in Campfire USA’s after school programs.
    
The programs provide homework help, physical activity and exposure to positive role models, healthy lifestyles, community service and leadership development.
