Nicole Freburg-Hoffmeister and Deanna Tiller, both of Kearney, will present a joint junior vocal recital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 2, in the University of Nebraska at Kearney Fine Arts Recital Hall.
Freburg-Hoffmeister, a music education and musical theatre major, is the daughter of Nancy Freburg and Andrew Hoffmeister of Kearney. Tiller is the daughter of Thelma Showalter of Kearney and is a vocal music performance and music education major.
A student of Adam Kirkpatrick’s, Freburg-Hoffmeister will perform songs by Ottorino Respighi, Aaron Copland, Gabriel Fauré, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jerome Kern. Tiller, who studies with Pina Mozzani, will perform songs by G.F. Handel, Jean Phillipe Rameau, Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, Victor Herbert, Stephen Sondheim and Antonio Vivaldi.
Freburg-Hoffmeister received a music scholarship and is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma freshman honor society. Tiller received an honorable mention at the 2003 National Association of Teachers of Singers (NATS) state competition. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, a Delta Omicron pledge and the secretary for UNK Student Senate.
The recital is free and open to the public.
