More than 400 high school seniors from across the state will be on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus for Senior Day Friday, Oct. 29.

Registration, which includes check-in and lunch at the Nebraskan Student Union, will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is followed by a short welcome address in the Student Union Great Room from Traci Whitthuhn of Stapleton, a UNK mass media major.

After the opening activities, the seniors will sit in on a UNK class of their choice from 1:25 to 1:15 p.m. This experience will give them a taste of UNK’s academic opportunities. From 2:15-3:30 p.m., the students will tour the campus. The tour will cover residence halls and academic buildings, as well as give high school students a chance to meet current UNK students. The campus tours will be followed by a “A Guide to Getting to Involved” session from 3:30 to 4 p.m. The session will help high school students discover what UNK and the Kearney community have to offer and how to get involved.

The final session, “A Day in the Life,” is a question and answer period from 4-5 p.m. High school students will have an opportunity to ask current students questions about college life. Dinner follows the Q&A at 5 p.m. The high school students will then have free admission to the UNK vs. Metro State volleyball game, which starts at 7 p.m.

The campus tours will be led by members of Envoys. Envoy tour leaders include:
