Learning ways to effectively market yourself to a prospective employer is the subject of a Career Development Workshop set for 7 p.m. Monday, May 10, at the Kearney Public Library.
The University of Nebraska at Kearney and the Kearney Public Library will cosponsor the workshop titled Accomplishments–The Key to Effective Interviewing. One in a series of career development workshops being held the second Monday of each month, the program is free and open to the public. Alexandra Dillon, a nationwide trainer formerly with Development Dimensions International, will be the main workshop presenter.
“Years ago, people rarely changed jobs but things are different,” said Michelle Fleig-Palmer, director of the UNK Dual Career Program. “Whether dealing with a career move or unemployment, the key is to learn the insider tips that will help you get a new job faster.
“Ms. Dillon has trained many managers on how to interview prospective employees,” she said. “She has the insider knowledge as to what an employer looks for in an interview and will share that information at the workshop.”
