The University of Nebraska at Kearney Student Activities Council is sponsoring the Fun 5k Walk-Run 2003 on April 12 beginning at 8 a.m.
All participants will receive a free t-shirt with business logos from area businesses that have contributed to the event. Cash prizes will be given to UNK student organizations that participate in the Walk-Run. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place male and female participating.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the UNK Student Leadership Scholarship Fund.
The event has already received around $1000 in merchandise and gift certificates from area businesses and almost $900 for the scholarship fund.
