The Kearney Area Chess Club will host the First UNK Chess Classic, Student Chess Championship and Team Championship on Feb. 8, 2003, in the Nebraskan Student Union at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
The tournament will be a four round Swiss System event with all games determined in two hours or less. The entry fee is $4 per individual or $10 for a three-person team if received before Feb. 7. On or after Feb. 7, fees are $5 per individual or $15 for a three-person team. Late registration and pre-tournament check-in will be from 8:00 a.m.-8:45 a.m. in room 238 C. The first round will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
