The Winds of Freedom Woodland Quartet will perform a concert at the University of Nebraska at Kearney on Friday, January 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.
The Winds of Freedom is a part of the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band. The group performs a wide variety of music including classical, jazz, and standard woodwind quintet music.
Members of the group include: Staff Sergeant Coreen A. Levin of Seattle, Wash., performing on the oboe. She has played with the Harrisburg Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra and has taught oboe at Mercer University in Georgia. Staff Sergeant Cynthia A. Donnelly of Topeka, Kan., will be performing on the flute. She has performed with several orchestras including the Omaha Symphony and Opera Orchestras. She currently serves as a flute instructor for Omaha’s Creighton University. Staff Sergeant Stephan C. Holland from Nashville, Tenn., will be performing on the bassoon. He has performed with the Des Moines, Lincoln, and Omaha Symphonies. Staff Sergeant Kimberly T. Miller of Crestwood, Ky., will be performing with the group. She has performed with the Lyric Opera Theater Orchestra in Tempe, Arizona, the Mesa Symphony Orchestra, and the Bowling Green Western Symphony Orchestra. Senior Airman Kimberly M. Vance of Lincoln, Neb., is the final member of the band. She is a member of the Lincoln Symphony, and has performed with the Omaha Symphony, the Nebraska Symphony Chamber Orchestra, and many other professional chamber ensembles in eastern Nebraska.
The concert is free and open to the public.
