The University of Nebraska at Kearney Symphonic Band will present, “Reflection, Honor, and Triumph of the Human Spirit Through Music,” on Thursday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.

According to the band’s director, Dr. Neal Schnoor, UNK professor of music and performing arts, the concert will feature many unique compositions and sonorities. Selections will include, Giovanni Gabrieli’s “Sonata Pian’ e Forte,” J.S. Bach’s “Fantasia in G,” and an organ piece entitled, “Prophecy of the Earth.” The final portion of the concert will be a tribute to military forces and a celebration of the American spirit.

“One goal of the concert is to explore unique sound combinations which are not often heard at band concerts,” Schnoor said.

The concert will be free and open to the public.
