UNK STUDENT EXCELS IN FORENSICS

Carrie Steele, a junior at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, had a successful semester on the UNK Forensics Team. She made it to the final round seven times at four tournaments.

On October 27, Steele place fifth at the Mid-America Forensic League Tournament in Maryville, Missouri. On November 10, she placed second in Impromptu Speaking and fifth in Extemporaneous Speaking at the Midland Lutheran College Invitational Tournament. At the Mid-America Forensic League Tournament at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota, on November 17, she placed third in Impromptu Speaking and sixth in Extemporaneous Speaking. She ended the semester on December 1 at the Nebraska Wesleyan Tournament by placing fifth in Impromptu Speaking and second in Extemporaneous Speaking.

Steele is majoring in political science with a minor in journalism and is the daughter of Ken and Sherry Steele of Holland.
