UNK-Alcohol Awareness Week will be held Oct. 9-13 on the UNK campus. REACH-Up and UPFF will be sponsoring alcohol awareness events on campus throughout the week. “The main reason we are sponsoring an Alcohol Awareness Week is to try and shape students socially to make good decisions,” said REACH-Up Director Paul Stevens.
Schedule of Events: Monday, Oct.9, Nebraskan Student Union Mall, 11 a.m.-2 p.m Fatal Vision Tricycles Course- A realistic look at how impairment influences the operation of a moving object. Students will participate in teams of four and prizes will be awarded for the winning teams.
Tuesday, Oct.10. Nebraskan Student Union Atrium, 9 p.m.- 10:30 p.m. Create a Non-Alcoholic Drink Contest- Open to 12 teams and prizes will be awarded.
Wednesday, Oct.11. UNK Fine Arts Recital Hall, 7 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. The Illusion of Drugs and Alcohol- Back by popular demand magician Don Parker. See the awe-inspiring illusions provided by this internationally known magician. Open to the public, free of charge. Also see Don Parker perform magic throughout the day near the UNK Cope Memorial Fountain.
