UNK– “Making Your Money Work for You: Personal Investing” will be offered Wednesday, Oct. 4, at College Park in Grand Island.
“This seminar is designed for those who have very little experience in the investment world,” said Dr. Gene Koepke, seminar presenter and a marketing and management professor at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
“The goal is to show participants that investing doesn’t have to be painful and to expose equities as a source of potential wealth,” he added. Participants will learn about stock analysis, long-term vs. short-term investing, mutual funds vs. individual stocks, and much more.
Dr. Koepke is a frequent speaker in the areas of marketing strategies, customer relations and economic development, and has presented programs throughout the United States. He previously served as vice chancellor for Academic Affairs, vice chancellor for College Relations, and dean of the College of Business and Technology at UNK.
Dr. Koepke’s presentation is one in a series of Learning Edge seminars being offered at College Park. The Learning Edge is sponsored by the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Division of Continuing Education.
Participants can select from two presentation times, 1-3 p.m. or 7-9 p.m. Cost of the seminar is $45, or only $35 if registered before the Wednesday, Sept. 27 deadline. There is also a Friends and Family Rate: $60 (only $50 if paid before the deadline) for two registrants paying by one check.
