UNK-The 23rd annual Educator’s Employment Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 19 in the UNK Health and Sports Center.
Over 90 K-12 employers from 11 states are scheduled to be present at the event for interviews and to distribute school information. Anyone interested in working in a school system including classroom teachers, administrators, etc. are invited to attend. The event is free to UNK students and alumni, and is $10 for non-UNK students and alumni. The fee is payable in advance or at the door.
Nancy Kneen, assistant director of Career Services, said the Educator’s Employment Fair is a wonderful opportunity for new and experienced educators to peruse the job market.
“This is a great opportunity for educators to network,” she said. “Even those who are undecided about a career in education can benefit from the fair.”
In addition, Janice Eret with the Nebraska Department of Education will be on hand to demonstrate a new Web site that serves Nebraska school systems and education candidates who want to teach in Nebraska. A new Web site, it will contain a listing of Nebraska education positions and will allow candidates to post a resume-like data sheet for the schools to view.
