UNK- University of Nebraska at Kearney junior Erica Rodehorst has been selected as the winner of the Lee S. Evans Scholarship. Fifteen scholarships are awarded nationwide each year. An annual award in the amount of $2,500, the scholarship is presented by the philanthropic arm of the National Association of Homebuilders. The scholarship is payable for the 2000-01 academic year and is renewable to Rodehorst, a construction management major from Ogallala, each year until graduation.
Ken Larson, industrial technology professor and advisor to the UNK construction management organization, said recipients of the award are selected by review of career goals, academic achievement, employment history, extra-curricular activities and financial need.
“This is a tremendous accomplishment,” he said. “The fact that the award comes from a national competition adds credence to the scholarship. Having received this award will certainly be a factor in her recruitment after college.”
