Have you ever wondered what ethnic Nepalese or Mexican food really tastes like? Now you can! Visitors to the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s International Food Festival on Sunday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Health & Sports Center can taste ethnic food from 32 countries for free and mingle with UNK international students dressed in their culture’s traditional attire. In addition, Morris Press has donated 1000 cookbooks of the displayed food for guests to take home and global artwork will be on display.
As a kick-off to the James E. Smith World Affairs Conference, over 300 UNK international students have volunteered to cook up some of their culture’s finest dishes and perform traditional dances and songs from all over the world. At 7:30 p.m., Chancellor Doug Kristensen will take the stage to welcome World Affairs Conference delegates and food festival guests. Immediately following, UNK international students will perform their traditional ethnic dances and cultural music from their respective countries.
