UNK- Tours of the G.W. Frank House, a 19th Century mansion and a national historic site, will be offered this summer at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
These tours will be given from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday, June 1-Aug. 31, and will cover the history of the Frank family’s role in the development of Kearney, as well as the architectural significance of the Frank House.
The Frank House is a UNK facility. The tour cost is $3 per person. For group tours, there is a 12-person minimum.
“This summer we’ll also be hosting a modern quilt exhibit from June 13-July 13,” said Virgy Lund, Frank House curator.
The quilts are part of Molly Anderson’s “Sensations in Quilting” exhibit, which has also been displayed at the Museum of Nebraska Art.
In addition to the quilt exhibit, the Frank House will also host “Youth Croquet at the Frank House” for 8-14 year-olds in July.
