Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society at UNK Inducts New Members

UNK- Alpha Phi Sigma national criminal justice honor society at the University of Nebraska at Kearney recently inducted 13 students into membership.

To be eligible for induction into Alpha Phi Sigma, undergraduate students must have a criminal justice major or minor, have completed three full-time semesters or the equivalent, have a minimum grade point average of a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, and rank in the top 35 percent of their class. Further, the students must have taken a minimum of four criminal justice courses.

According to Dr. Julie Campbell, Alpha Phi Sigma adviser, the mission of the honor society is to promote analytical thinking, rigorous scholarship and life-long learning; to keep abreast of the advances in scientific research; to elevate the ethical standards of the criminal justice professions; and to sustain in the public mind the benefit and necessity of education and professional training.
