KEARNEY – University of Nebraska at Kearney is presenting its opera workshop “NUMBERS – An Evening of Arias and Small Ensembles From Opera” with a pair of performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
UNK students will present scenes and arias from 11 operas, sung in English, French, Italian, German and Czech. Senior theatre and music student Kyle Mundil will narrate the evening.
The show at the UNK Recital Hall in the Fine Arts Building is free an open to the public
“The study and performance of opera is important to the development of the students’ musical and acting skills. A program of opera scenes allows participation on many levels, depending on the student’s experience,” said Anne Foradori, professor of music.
“The variety of scenes and arias in this program will include familiar, as well as many new works for the audience.”
