“Clang Goes the Trolley,” presented by Dan Frizane of Minden, will open the Saturday at the Frank House series at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 26.
The event will take place in the Frank House, which is located on the University of Nebraska at Kearney West Campus. The presentation is free and open to the public, but donations to the Frank House are accepted.
The presentation will primarily focus on the early years of trolley cars and the significance of trolleys in city development. Frizane will also connect the importance of trolleys to the Kearney area and the Franks, who were influential at the time when Kearney used operating trolley cars. The presentation will include a slideshow as well as several photos. Tours of the mansion will be available for guests after the presentation.
Frank House hours are 2-5 p.m. Monday – Friday, and noon – 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Guided tours are available. The mansion will be closed March 18 – 25 during UNK’s spring break and May 25 – 28 for Memorial Day.
