UNK– Entertainer and master hypnotist Dr. Jim Wand will return to the University of Nebraska at Kearney to give two performances on Thursday, Jan. 21.

“This is one event we bring back year after year, because the response from the students and community is so fantastic,” said Tim Danube, associate director of the UNK Nebraskan Student Union. The event is sponsored by the Loper Programming and Activities Council (LPAC).

Dr. Wand will perform at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the Nebraskan Student Union Ponderosa Room. Tickets, which are available at the Welcome Desk in the Nebraskan Student Union or by calling, 308.865.8523, are $1 for students with their ID and $4 for general admission.

“The community is encouraged to attend the 7 p.m. show for a more family oriented show,” Danube said.

Dr. Wand’s talent includes his ability to help audience members, through hypnosis, put aside their inhibitions and behave in a way they normally may not to entertain the audience. He blends motivational messages and entertainment to make each event both educational and entertaining.

He has worked with such personalities as Jay Leno of the “Tonight Show,” Chris Rock and Carrot Top, along with football players from eight different NFL teams, including the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers.

Dr. Wand, who is performing at UNK for his 22nd year, has more than 5,000 performances to his credit.
