The Educator’s Employment Fair has been rescheduled for April 18 at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, according to Diana Kircher, UNK assistant director for Career Services.
Originally scheduled for March 21, the event was rescheduled due to a blizzard. The fair will take place in the Nebraskan Student Union, Room 238, from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Educators from across the state as well as several school systems from Kansas will be in attendance to talk to candidates.
All potential educators may register early for the fair by filling out a form on the Career Services Web site: http://www.unk.edu/offices/careerserv/index.php
By registering in advance, the participating school systems will receive each registrant’s information before the event. The schools may then contact students who have endorsements that match their openings, and students are able to search for open positions among the schools that will be in attendance at the fair.
Also on the Web site, the Office of Career Services has provided tips for successful interviewing and how to prepare for the fair for those seeking positions. For example, the Office of Career Services suggests dressing professionally and being prepared to interview on the spot.
Career Services always has job search materials available. Students may also schedule a videotaped practice interview and use the drop-off resume critique service, which allows students the opportunity to have their resumes reviewed.
