PEOPLE MANAGEMENT FOCUS OF CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY SEMINAR MONDAY, MARCH 6, AT UNK

Managing and motivating employees effectively is the focus of a construction industry seminar set for 1-4:30 p.m. Monday, March 6, in the University of Nebraska at Kearney Nebraskan Student Union.
    
Chuck Vander Kooi of Vander Kooi and Associates in Littleton, Colo., will give the presentation, which is being sponsored jointly by the Associated General Contractors (ACG) Nebraska Building Chapter and the UNK Collegiate Chapter of the ACG.
    
Vander Kooi, who has more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry, will share his expertise on the broad subject of people management. In the workshop, he will talk about the good employee who has gone bad (egg sucking dog), the four different personalities needed in a business, communication with contractors and other topics critical to effectively running a company.
    
The workshop is designed for owners/operators, key people, team leaders, decision makers, project managers, employees, spouses and students.
    
Registration will take place from 1 – 1:30 p.m. Cost for the workshop is $89 for the first registrant from a company, and $79 for each additional registrant from the same company. The fee is waived for UNK students.
