It may be cold outside, but the hardwood action will heat up the Health & Sports Center this week as both the women’s and men’s teams are set to compete.

Admission is free to see the UNK women, who have won three in a row, host Upper Iowa in a 6 p.m. non-conference game tonight.

The women and men will host RMAC double-headers this weekend, playing Adams State Friday night and the unbeaten West Division front-runner Fort Lewis Saturday night. The women play at 6 p.m.; the men, at 8 p.m.

It’s a Kearney Hub 2-for-1 weekend. Look for the coupon in Tuesday’s newspaper (the ad also ran in the weekend edition).

Season ticketholders are invited to gather in the Al Zikmund Conference Room 20 minutes before the men’s game for the newly established Loper Lounge. Team stats, game previews, score updates from around the country, as well as refreshments provided by Runza, are all a part of this hospitality area. Friday’s Loper Lounge will feature Coach Holly Carnes and members of her 2005 softball squad. Baseball’s coach Marcus Clapp and team members will make an appearance on Saturday.
